Come and join us for a City of Phoenix organized ride!

This will be a family oriented group ride.

Select bike lights will be 10% to 30% off.

Date: Friday, September 14 at 6:30 pm

Start: Slippery Pig Bike Shop at 4412 N Central Ave in Phoenix

End: Mill & 3rd Ave

Route: (Approximately 11.5 miles) Leave Slippery Pig and head south on Central Ave to Turney. Turn right and take Turney Ave west to 3rd Ave, take 3rd Ave bike lanes north to access the Grand Canal. Take the Grand Canal southeast through Phoenix and into Tempe. Then where the canal intersects Washington Street, the ride would head toward Marquee Theater connecting to the Rio Salado north bank path. The group would then go over the Tempe Town Lake bicycle and pedestrian bridge near the Tempe Arts Center. From there they could head east to Mill Avenue on the Rio Salado south bank path. Once at Mill, they could end the ride at the 3rd and Mill light rail station. If anyone is interested in riding further into Tempe, the suggested route could continue south to College Avenue and see the new College Avenue Streetscape Project and loop back around to the Transportation Center light rail station.

Police: Phoenix Sgt Carl Clovis has added 6:30pm Sept 14 to his calendar for motorcycles and bicycle police. They will guide the ride through Phoenix.

Sponsor: Slippery Pig Bike Shop will extend a 10% discount on all safety products–gloves, helmets, bells, and lights– the day of the ride.
